Unless they're selvedge denim, they're probably relatively worthless (in monetary value, anyways,) especially if they're as recent as '88. Levi's would definitely not buy them back from you for history or anything; they're probably interested in only denim from the early years of the company (1860s-early 1900s.) Sorry, but they obviously have value to your pa.
